PPSC PCS Mains 2026 Results Under Fire as BJP Flags Serious Irregularities
Punjab PCS Mains 2026 results face scrutiny after BJP leader Dr. Subhash Sharma flags alleged irregularities, including examination centre patterns, consecutive roll numbers and questions over interview selection rules.
Dr. Sharma said the results announced on the night of November 4 had exposed serious gaps in the government's claims of transparency and integrity. He pointed out that the government had repeatedly claimed to provide jobs without money or recommendations, but the facts emerging from the PCS examination results had raised serious questions about these assurances.
According to the figures cited by Dr. Sharma, 24.21 per cent of the selected candidates were reportedly associated with a single examination centre. He also alleged that the roll numbers of 86 candidates appeared consecutively in groups of three or four. He said such patterns in a highly competitive examination like the PCS raised serious doubts and warranted an impartial investigation.
Dr. Sharma also questioned the transparency of the interview selection process. According to recruitment rules, three times the number of advertised vacancies should be called for interviews. However, concerns have been raised over transparency and compliance with the prescribed procedure. He demanded that the government explain why the established process was allegedly not followed.
He said the PCS results controversy was not an isolated incident. Disputes had previously emerged over the Naib Tehsildar recruitment examination, paramedical staff recruitment at Baba Farid Medical University and other examinations. Delays in several recruitment processes and examinations remaining pending for years had already caused considerable frustration among Punjab's youth.
He further pointed to the postponement of the PPSC Senior Assistant examination until 2027, saying the situation had raised additional questions about the government's recruitment system.
Dr. Sharma demanded an investigation into the PCS Main Examination-2026 results by an independent and impartial agency. He also called for the public disclosure of examination centre records, attendance registers, answer sheets and roll number allocation records. He said strict legal action should be taken against those responsible if any form of malpractice was established.
Emphasising that government jobs should be awarded on merit, Dr. Sharma said Punjab's youth deserved employment based on their hard work and qualifications rather than recommendations or political connections. He added that the BJP would not tolerate any compromise with the future of young people and would raise the issue forcefully.
